Exhibition „Cruise Shipping Miami 2015“ in Miami
On 17-19 March, 2015, Lithuanian national delegation participated in the annual largest international cruise shipping exhibition “Cruise Shipping Miami 2015″, held in Miami (USA). Lithuanian national stand of 18 m2 presented Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, Klaipeda Tourism and Culture Information Centre, Limarko Maritime Agency UAB, Klaipeda Mėja UAB , Krantas Travel UAB.
During the exhibition, the world’s biggest travel guide publisher “Lonely Planet” has identified Lithuania as the third best direction of tourism in 2015 after Singapore and Namibia. Visitors of the exhibition were interested in Klaipeda port and its possibilities to receive large cruise ships. Last year, cruise ship “Celebrity Eclipse” visited Klaipėda port. It was the highest ship in the history of the port. Length of “Celebrity Eclipse” is equivalent to the length of three football fields, and the height is larger than the 20-storey house. This 317 m long liner is going to visit Klaipėda this year as well. Limarko Maritime Agency UAB is nominated as the agent of “Celebrity Eclipse” at Klaipėda port.
In 2015, Klaipėda cruise season starts on 4 May. The first is going to be cruise liner “AIDA cara”, flying with the Italian flag (length – 193.34 m, the liner’s agent in the port of Klaipėda is Limarko Maritime Agency UAB. The ship of this German line visits Klaipėda for the first time. This year cruise ships will have about 60 visits to Klaipėda port. Last year cruise liners visited our port for 63 times, bringing a record number of cruise tourists – more than 57 000.
